Eliminate “Shut up!” from Your Family’s Vocabulary

I came across this article and knew I had to blog about it. I admit, it was once a repeat word in our household. My Husband and I had to make sure we used other words. Even if we were saying it as a “OMG, no way, shut up” text, the kids still picked up on it. After explaining to our kids that it’s not a word for kids they’ve been able to remove it from their vocabulary. Now onto the words they have learned elsewhere and the backtalk that needs to stop!!

  1. Hi Mel,

So did the article help? I saw that you joined Bloggy Moms and found your blog through there.

  2. Hey girl, well I found this article after I went through the "shut up" phase with the boys. But it was similar to what I had to do in order for them to understand what they were doing wrong, or saying wrong. Right now we're battling the "talking back" problem. Glad you found me. I just joined Bloggy Moms today. How do you like it?

  3. Not sure yet. I joined the writer's workshop hoping that it was what the description said it would be. So far I haven't seen any new posts from the moderator since I started. I have found a few good blogs to follow though.
