My family and I have been Leap Frog fans since my kids were babies. My kids had gone through several infant toys as well as toddler toys. My older son had the Leapfrog Leapster for 2 years and was eventually passed down to my 3 year old. With the sighting of the new LeapPad, he knew he had to have it. I was all for it especially when he always wanted to get on my laptop or smartphone. I made a deal with him that if he saved his own money, at least half, I’d pay the rest to buy it. After almost 4 months, he had saved enough to buy his own!! He was so happy. And although he got it when he was sick with a bug, he was thrilled.
I love the technology this gadget has. The games are fun as well as educational just like the Leapster games. My little one loves the video, touchscreen and camera it has on it. My only complaint about it is that I have to buy games all over again. Because it is only compatible with the LeapFrog Explorer. My boys already had almost all of the previous Leapster games. It’s been a few weeks now and my son plays with it almost everyday. I have yet to buy any games, but I’ve gotten a few apps for him. My 3 year old nephew has also enjoyed the LeapPad. One thing I’m happy about is that my little one has not forgotten about his old Leapster and still enjoys it. He feels so special to have his own “tablet” like gadget.
