Oh what a night! It was the 90th Anniversary of the Harlem Globetrotters and in the new T-mobile arena in Las Vegas! Although this was the first year we caught the tour in Las Vegas, now that we are residents. As always it was a total blast. Lots of laughs and giggles from my son and my niece. (My Husband and oldest son couldn’t make it because my son had a baseball game the same night.) So I invited my cousin and my niece. It’s always great to be able to see these games with my family because I grew up seeing The Harlem Globetrotters as well. It’s one of the fondest memories I have of going to a family event when I was younger. I love to talk to my own kids about my memories of the Globetrotters. My boys however, are very spoiled have gone to many major league sport games, shows, theme parks and so much more. Times sure have changed with raising a family .
Some of the antics that goes on. (“Flip” is in the hoop)
Throughout the years we have always seen the different Globetrotters. It’s nice seeing different players, but we definitely have our favorites. Being that my son’s have met some of the players they always have a favorite one. This year we saw “new” (to us) players, all except for “Big Easy”. We were a bit disappointed not seeing “Handles”, “Cheese”, “Hammer”, “Moose” and “TNT”.  But we did get to see the local Globetrotter “Scooter”. They all had some great skills and tricks. My son also enjoyed “Big G” which is the mascot. The nice thing about any Globetrotter event is they allow autograph signing and photos with the players at the end of every game. We didn’t do it this night because it was a school night and already getting late (and my son forgot to bring his Globetrotter ball and souvenir book). Being able to be up close and personal for photos and an autograph makes the Globetrotters much more personable and allows fans to meet their favorite player.
We always love all the antics that take place during a Harlem Globetrotters show. Since my boys love basketball, it’s always a total hit with them. It’s fun, lots of laughs, entertainment and most of all making memories.
